Supplies for the Ranch

"Supplies for the Ranch"

We had to head into town fer grub
The sun was shine'n with a pretty glow
O'le Fuzzy, the cook gave us a shop'n list
I knew the longer we wait'd the more she'd grow!

So we saddle'd up our o'le ponies
Caught up a couple more fer the packs
O'le Fuzzy made us a couple sandwiches
It's forty miles round trip so we best be make'n tracks!

I reckon we hit town just shy of noon
And drop'd off the list at the General Store
Figures we'd tip one down at the Past Time
But that sort'a turn'd into a couple more!

Well, once'd we caught up on the latest stories
We head'd over and loaded up the supplies
It felt like the wind was cool'n down
And I didn't like those darken'n skies!

Bout half way home it start'd snow'n
And that old wind got down right cold
We pulled the collar's up on our wool parka's
Boy, those old trappers must have been bold!

Man was we happy to see the o'le ranch house
My hands were so cold even the gate was a fight
But o'le Fuzzy had the pot belly stove a glow'n
A little hot stew and coffee and we're do'n just right!
