Come enjoy Fred's Birthday Cake! Our Special Guests Bob Pittman (KIRO's Legal Line) and Dorothy Wilhelm (My Home Town/Never Too Late) are back on the air again!

They're launching their brand new weekly streaming radio show at Fred's big birthday party. Stop by and meet Bob and Dorothy and maybe be a guest on their show. You won't want to miss Bob talking with Fred about Cowboy Law. Get all the details and learn how you'll be able to hear the show live, and how to receive podcasts (and Bobcasts) of the show, "In The Middle" with Bob and Dorothy.

In the meantime warm up by listening to Bob Pittman's Legal Line every Wednesday at 3:00p.m. at

Fred's new video "Artists Around the Campfire" will be available in the Gift Shop. It's Fred with Roxane Asay, Ken Hurley, Michael McGrady, Carla Morrison, Steve Olson & Bob Tandecki plain air painting around the campfire & sharing many stories!

SPRING INVITATIONAL JURIED ART SHOW & SALE

The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center is proud to present and you are cordially invited to participate in the Spring Invitational Juried Art Show & Sale to be held at the FOWHC April 2-30th.

There will be 3 Professional Judges to screen and judge the artwork. Prize Money and Trophies will be awarded.

The show will run the month of April during regular Center hours including during Spring Fair. All the Art shown will be available for sale.

There will be an Artists Reception for the Artists & Patrons on April 9th from 4-7pm.

CATEGORIES:

Large Paintings ~ framed ~ 18”x24” and larger ~ Sculptures over 18” high
Medium Paintings ~ framed ~ 8”x10” to 16”x20” ~ Sculptures 9” to 18” high
Miniature Paintings ~ framed ~ 35” circumference or smaller ~ Sculptures 8” or less high

SUBMISSION FEES:

The submission fees will be non refundable!

Large Paintings & Sculptures ~ $15 each entry

25% commission will be charged on all sales.

All artwork must be received at the Center by March 19th. Deliver your artwork on March 14th & 15th 10-11:30am or the 16th 2-8pm or the 19th 11am-4pm. You may also mail your work.

National Day of the Cowboy!

July 16 11:00am to 4:00pm

Day of the Cowboy 2011

This is a must see event! We will have demonstrations of Back Country Saddle Packing, Saddle Making, Spinning, Roping, Cheese Making, Blacksmithing, and lots of Country and Fiddle music for your enjoyment.

Eatonville Lions Club Art Festival!

August 5, 6, and 7, 2011

10am - 7pm Fri & Sat, 10am - 5pm Sunday

This event will be held at Glacier View Park, 211 Fir Street, Eatonville, WA. and is sponsored by the Eatonville Lions Club! Join us for a Tradition of Mt. Hospitality & enjoy some of the Finest NW Arts & Crafts, Kids Activities, Delicious Festival Food, Beer Garden & Live Entertainment!

Friday Night will feature the Perry Acker Band and Elbow County Ruff for your listening pleasure.

Saturday will be highlighted by the 5 - 6 pm Artist Quick Draw competition and the Live Art Auction beginning at 6:15 pm. Saturday night we will be entertained by the Sweetkiss Mama Band and the Mt. Highway Band.

Sunday's highlight will be the Silent Art Auction from 1 to 3 pm

Fred is hoping to see all of you at the Eatonville Art Festival this year.

Open Studio Tour Nov 4-6th

10am - 4pm

To enjoy the whole Tour just follow the map (available in PDF format by clicking here) and visit local artists in their working studios. You will witness painters, photographers, potters, jewelers and crafters in action and be able to purchase the art directly from the artists.

****Fiddle Festival & Contest ****

Nov 11 & 12th

The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage and Arts Center will again proudly host this year's Fiddle and Pickin' contest.

The two day event will consist of the Fiddle and Pickin' contests and workshops.

 Friday, November 11 doors will open at 6:00 pm for evening jamming and open sign up.  Friday evening show begins at 7:00 pm.

 Saturday, November 12 beginning around 8:00 am and continuing until about 6:00 pm division contestants perform.  At 6:15 pm doors will open for Saturday night entertainment, beer, soft drinks, and brats will be available.  Daytime contest winners and invited performers will perform along with Rockin' HW until 9:00 pm.
