The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center is dedicated to the preservation of Fred’s dream of sharing his love of life, his Western Art, and the history of the American West. As an interactive learning center it celebrates and promotes this dream for all generations.

Join Us For A Generational Celebration of Talent!

We are having a Two-Person Art Show Featuring: Our own 91 year old Fred Oldfield & 9 year old artist Jordan Cook on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

We would really like to have you join us here at the FOWH & Arts Center to enjoy their combined talents and they would like to greet their friends both old and new and share birthday cake and refreshments with you.

Jordan has been working on her art since the age of two and says she wants her art to be "music for the eyes." More of her work can be seen at her web site at www.paintingmyworld.com

May 9 Wine Tasting Event

Join us at the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center for our Spring Wine Tasting Event. Taste the fine wines from 12 Washington Wineries may 9th from Noon until 7:00 PM.

The $5.00 entry fee is also your ticket to potentially win the door prize.

The Juni Fisher Concert last year was a real hoot and this year's will be even better!

Teachers' "Get Acquainted" Open House

June 2nd ~ 5-7 pm

The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center invites you to a "Get Acquainted" evening. Please be our guest and enjoy a tour of the Center. You will enjoy numerous original Fred Oldfield Paintings spanning Mr. Oldfield's career from the 1930's through today. His work depicts the History of the Old West.

The Center also features Old West Artifacts, as well as our extensive American Indian Basket and Artwork collection. We want to share what the Center has to offer to enhance your current curricula with Field Trips to the Center in 2009/2010.

Docents will be available to answer all your questions about the Center. We will host an Art Demonstration and a Question and Answer chat with 91 year young Fred Oldfield. Our Art Teachers will be available to explain our After School and Summer Camp Art Programs.

There will be Wine and Hors d'oeuvres ~ Gifts and Door Prizes

Now through October 10 ~ Someone’s in the Kitchen with Fred

"A cookbook" I said?!? Well just wait until you see it! Our volunteers, family and friends from across the country sent in 586 recipes and do we ever have a book for you!! It has a hardbound cover & is a three ring binder.

I painted an original painting for the cover so I decided I’d donate the painting to help with the sales. You will get one chance to win the painting with every cookbook you pre-order. The painting depicts a true old west campfire scene.

The crew is taking orders now for the books and the drawing will be on Oct 11th at the Western Art Show. You don’t need to be present to win the painting. We will limit the chances to the first 500 books sold. They tell me this will make a great Christmas Gift. So I say order several and give them away and we will say thanks for benefiting our Art Program!

Oct 9-11 ~ Celebration of Western & Wildlife Art Show

The show will be held in Expo Hall at the Puyallup Fairgrounds at the Gold Gate.
Friday, 9 October from 3pm to 10pm
Saturday, 10 October from 10am to 10pm
and Sunday, 11 October from 10 am to 4pm

Fred Oldfield, noted Western Artist, welcomes you to the 20th Annual Celebration of Western and Wildlife Art Show and Auction. The show is October 9th, 10th & 11th in the Expo Hall at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. Exciting Quick Draws – Live Auctions – Over 100 of the country's top Western & Wildlife Artists & Country Music – something for everyone!! This is the perfect Family venue! The Show admission is FREE and the parking is FREE!

The show opens with much excitement in the air as the artists gather from the Western half of the United States to bring this show to you. Western Art includes every subject matter that pertains to Americana whether it's Cowboys and Indians, Grandma's old house, Victorian ladies, Landscapes, Historical portrayals, or Nature. There will be oil paintings, watercolors, pencil drawings, bronzes, carvings, weavings, paper sculptures, photography and jewelry to please every taste. The show brings together such a diverse array of talent it's hard to fathom where else you would be able to feast your eyes on such a display all under one roof.

Come and spend your day wandering through the art displays. Enjoy meeting the artists and watching their art demonstrations. Then relax with the evening festivities at the "Artists Reception". There you will get to watch the artists create a piece of artwork in one hour at the "Quick Draw" event. The items will then be auctioned off at the Live Auction. Meanwhile you can enjoy the Silent Mini Auction with all the art gems being Miniature in size.

The show will benefit the "Experience Art Program" at the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center. The Art Program is designed to engage students of all ages in a guided creative learning experience.

Nov 13 - 14 ~ Fiddle & Pickin Contest

The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage and Arts Center will again proudly host this year's Fiddle and pickin' contest.

The two day event will consist of the Fiddle and Pickin' contests, workshops and new this year will be the raffling of a pair of Alaskan Airlines coach tickets to anywhere they have a route.

Alaska Airlines is helping us out and has generously donated Two Round Trip Tickets to be Raffled by the FOWHC to anywhere Alaska flies to benefit the Festival. These Raffle Tickets can be purchased at the Heritage Center or call at 253-445-9175.

Saturday from 8am - 5pm the Fiddle & Pickin Competitions ~ Come & watch the competition with musicians ~ 5 to 90 yr. olds! Awards & Prize Money!!

Saturday at 6:30 ~ a Night to Remember ~ Featured Entertainment: the Cow Chips with our Contest Winners Performing ~ A Beer Tasting with Delectable Brats from Jake's Ales!! Prize Winning Music & Food ~ you won't want to miss it!!
