85 Years...What a Party!
I've got to admit my very favorite time was my big birthday celebration in March.
Now you know, I'm not the sort of fellow to go in for big birthday parties. All those folks singing at me make me nervous and all those candles on the cake are getting to be a darn fire hazard. But this was something different.
See, the week of my birthday, 520 students from schools all around here came through the Center to celebrate with me - and I'll tell you, it was great! Every one of those kids learned about all the exhibits and paintings.
I can't say enough about the volunteers that helped out with that. Anyway, when the kids finished looking at artifacts they made me birthday cards and then they settled down to sketch with me. That was my favorite part - I just love being with the kids. In fact, that whole birthday was just great.
Having the Senate vote a resolution for Fred Oldfield Day was pretty good too and if you missed it you can read about it and the other Government Proclamations by clicking HERE.
