Beginning Basics Workshop ~ Aletha Deuel
Workshops weekly June 6th Through May 18th
$10 Per Class

You are in luck as this series of weekly classes is designed to teach the basics for Drawing ~ Composition ~ Perspective ~ Watercolors ~ Oils

These classes are designed to teach beginning students as well as a refresher course for old time painters. We always need to refresh our skills. Please consider this class if you have any doubts about any of your skills or just want to learn another approach. This will be educational for all.

Classes are on Tuesdays, and the dates are -- March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 & April 6, 13, 20, 27, & May 4, 11, & 18th

Robert Walton – Oil Painting Workshop
April 9 – 11th – 9:00am – 4:00pm
Fee - $180 – Register by March 31st

Join Bob to learn about his powerful color palette and his beautiful landscapes! You all know he’s an award winning artist and how proud we are to have him share his talent with us at the Center! Robert is a multi award winning artist with an outstanding career in the oil painting field! Email us for a picture of what you will be creating.

We are so very pleased to have Bill join us for the first time with his amazing Watercolor Workshop. So many of you have asked to have Bill come to teach and we are so very pleased he said yes!! Bill graduated from the UW and CWU with degrees in Theater Arts and Art Education. He began teaching watercolor painting 25 years ago. Prior to that, he served as staff artist for 30 years at various TV stations in WA, CA, Texas and Idaho. Bill’s watercolors are mostly representational landscapes He is known for his snowscapes and water scenes. Bill has also designed and illustrated children’s educational books. He is a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society. Bill has received over a dozen “Best of Show in Watercolor” awards and is listed in Contemporary Western Artists.

Josie Tchoukaline ~ Classic Icons/Gold Leafing & Embossing
6 Saturdays ~ May 22, 29, June 5, 12, 19 & 26th ~ 10am – 4pm
$50 per week

During Josie’s numerous trips to Europe she discovered a small town where she learned many interesting techniques. This process is beautiful, fun, different, interesting and with her methods it is affordable. It is like spicing up all your knowledge. Josie will help you create Icons and other projects such as Gold Leafing and Embossing. The Classic Method is very expensive and quite fragile after many years. Josie can teach you a durable and inexpensive alternative. No animal products will be used in Josie’s method.

Judy Fairley ~ Scratchboard Workshop
August 12 - 14 ~ 10am – 2pm
$180.00 with supplies included

Judy Fairley is an Award Winning Artist & Teacher from Clarkston, WA where she has taught Pastel for over 30 years at the Walla Walla CC. She has been creating Scratchboard for 33 years however, she rarely teaches her Scratchboard techniques and only in private workshop settings! She became a member of the Women Artists of the West in 1977. Her latest shows include Oleg Wieghorst Museum, El Cajon, CA ~ Saks Galleries, Denver (won “Juror’s Choice Award”) ~ One Woman Show “Life is a Zoo”, Dahmen Artisian Barn in Uniontown, WA ~ Joyous Lake Gallery, Pinetop, AZ ~ National Art Foundation, Chicago. We have had many requests to have Judy join us at the Heritage Center, so this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for ~ to learn an art form that is meticulously executed from an artist that has spent over 30 years passionately creating her award winning pieces!

 

Workshop/class sizes are limited so register early to ensure your spot!

A supply list will be mailed to you upon registration of each workshop. The Center does not sell supplies but we can recommend Michaels or Tacoma Art Supply for all necessary supplies. Coffee will be provided. Please bring your lunch or be prepared to go out.

The Heritage Center is located at the Puyallup Fairgrounds between the gold Gate and the Roller Coaster at the Red Gate. It is on 9th SW. The parking is on the street or across the street in the grass. Please bring a brown bag lunch or be prepared to go out for lunch on the day long classes. Coffee will be provided.
